Babysitting and Dr Who's kitchen!
Travelled back to our hometown yesterday and called in to see our eldest son. He's renovating his dining room and it's starting to look very good. Son always strips everything back when decorating, ie new patio doors, walls plastered, new flooring, new skirting board etc. He's definitely a perfectionist.
We met DGD on the way to daughter's home riding her bike home from school. DD and her colleagues all meet up in a local pub with their children every Friday, so we spent an hour there before going to DDs home. Its really nice that they are all friends as well as colleagues.
Today, Saturday, OH put up a shelf in DGDs bedroom, and then we spent the day visiting relatives. Managed to catch 2 nieces, 2 sisters, sister's boyfriend, and our Brother-in-law. Haven't seen him for months, as he's been staying on and off with his mum and sister since my sister died last year. We took DGD around with us as we're looking after her while DD is away for the weekend. I was well impressed with her behaviour - she was perfect everywhere we went and very well mannered. Not quite that good when daughter is around lol - they never are with their parents.
The only problem we had here was trying to work out DDs cooking facilities. She has a very modern cooker imo! It's a halogen hob, which we've never used before, but after MCDONALD'S for lunch, OH managed to cook bacon sandwiches for tea. This is despite saying many times he didn't know what he was doing. DGD had fruit juice and fresh raspberries so that's part of the 5 a day I hope. The extractor I managed to get working so it was all good in the end. Daughter is home tomorrow evening so it may be fish and chips for lunch as the oven looks like something out of Dr. Who lol. Give me a gas hob and basic electric fan oven anytime!
Bye for now All the best Sally x
Wow after a year of not being signed in to comment as myself (despite writing my blog ok) it looks like Google has sorted it out. Hope it lasts x
ReplyDeleteHello Sally, thank you for visiting my blog and leaving a comment. I'm glad you are finally able to sign in and comment. There was another UK blogger I follow who couldn't access her blog for a while. New technology is daunting, isn't it? But, it sounds like you are managing, quite well with your daughter's stove. You had mentioned you lost your sister, last year; my deepest sympathies to you and your family.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bless. Yes the hob is halogen so we aren't very sure about it yet lol
