Back Home

Came home from daughter's home on Monday after OH's dental check up. He doesn't need any treatment so it's all good. Ridiculous really having to travel over 100 miles but that's the state of the NHS. Daughter's very excited about having a new kitchen so that kind of dominated the topic of conversation plus a visit Sunday morning from the measurements man. Her measurements were really accurate anyway - she's far more practical than me. I don't know one end of a gas pipe from the other lol. We visited son and grandchildren on the Saturday. They're renovating their kitchen ceiling atm putting in sound proofing for some reason. Just had new central heating too so house is a bit upside-down. Also called in to see sister and brother-in-law on the way back which was nice to catch up on the family gossip lol. Daughter wants us to house sit for the installation of her new boiler and delivery of the new kitchen units, also to help rip out the old kitchen! So

A Great Achievement!

For the last 4 years - yes 4 years - I've been trying to log into my phone provider account online! As I've long ago forgotten the password I put in my email, not recognised, my phone number, not a recognised number! Same every time. But they take the Direct Debit every month, send me text messages and emails! Problems started when I changed my number as I wasn't childminding anymore. So every few months I've tried again but still no joy. Tried a phone shop but they couldn't sort it either. 2 months ago I went sim only so thought I'd try again and still didn't work. Went on the app chat site and after typing the same thing 4 times I'd given up. Then it said we've sent you an email to change password and it arrived- never has before. It actually worked and I can now see my bill! I'm a few  ££s in credit which is a nice surprise.  We drove into Teignmouth today to pick up a few things our local shop doesn't stock, eg my shampoo, hair dye, clea

Not my home lol

Came home last Wednesday and the motorway was clear which makes a change. Set the satnav to home but it had magically moved my home address to the centre of Exeter!! Actually, very near to the climbing wall activity center where Ava went when she stayed with us!! As OH used his own satnav and not mine I can only presume Ava changed it when she was playing a game on my phone!! Half an hour detour around busy traffic in Exeter with lots of one way roads. Note to self supervise Ava when she plays on my phone lol. Molly dog went to the groomers yesterday as her fur was very uneven and woolley. OH had tried to cut it with clippers resulting in a hedgehog cut - up down up down lol. Our other spaniel has straight thick hair so only needs a trim once a year as OH trims her feet. They shed hair all year round so I'm really glad I have a robot vacuum to keep up with it. Tonight I decided to clean out the under sink cupboard and discovered a slight water leak. It's coming from the boiler

Halloween and the Dentist

We took Ava home at the weekend ready for when daughter returned from her trip abroad. Stayed with them for Halloween which went well. Daughter put the decorations up and OH carved the pumpkin. She took Ava and her friend's 2 children trick or treat around the local houses. We answered the door to crowds of children while they were gone. Got through half a bucket full of sweets. There were so many children knocking at her door. Daughter did a small buffet and cooked a pan of chilli with rice for family who came to visit. We went shopping the day before but couldn't find any eggs in Co-op. Realised after we got home the shops all take eggs off the shelves a few days before Halloween, to stop naughty children buying them to throw at houses. Should have asked where they were but we thought they had sold out lol. OH wanted 🥚 eggs for breakfast but never mind. It's a big problem in some areas if you don't answer the door to the children and give sweets. Had a dental appoin
