Full Board!!

 Son, Daughter, granddaughter and adult nephew all came to stay over this Bank Holiday weekend! We were quite full up here. I told OH he should consider converting the loft for the amount of visitors we get lol. Nephew slept on a high, blow up airbed in the living room as all spare beds were taken. Son left on Sunday, as he's working today Bank Holiday Monday, and daughter, granddaughter and nephew left today. It was definitely busy here!

Next weekend we are staying at daughter's home to look after the granddaughter. Daughter is going on a Spa Weekend with her friend. It was a Xmas present she received. Hopefully we will visit our eldest son, daughter in law and our other 2 grandchildren while staying there.  In the meantime I'm on the 3rd lot of washing tonight, and more to do tomorrow. I'm getting everything ready washed and ironed ready to pack for the weekend. It's much colder here now than last week and it was down to 5C last night. We only had 22C here at most a few days ago, but in South Gloucestershire where my family all live it was 28C!

My air fryer, that we bought almost 3 years ago, was on a recall from Tower homewear. Nothing seemed wrong with it but apparently it can catch fire. I filled out the online form and sent a photo of the registration plate on the bottom of it. Then I had a choice of them sending a new one or I could have a gift voucher and choose my own from their online store. The voucher came via email, but the next day they sent a different one as the first was wrong lol. I'll sort it out when we get home next week from babysitting. I'll probably pick a larger one and pay the extra money as we do have visitors quite frequently lol. Mark, our son, has already booked his holidays at work to come here for Xmas and New Year!!! Very likely that Daughter and granddaughter will come too.

Ebay is starting to pick up a bit now but I'm not selling as much as before they started the buyers' charge. I might try Vinted as my neighbour sells on there and does quite well. I think daughter is putting things on FB market place and doing OK with that.

 Travelled back to our hometown yesterday and called in to see our eldest son. He's renovating his dining room and it's starting to look very good. Alone at last!

 Son went home and I started to catch up on the housework and washing. Then came a phone call 3 days later, from my sister Amy wanting to come and visit! I couldn't say no as its 4 years since she visited us so it was pull out the folding bed and get it made up ready. She got a bit lost on the way here and took 3 hours to arrive, double the time needed.  Amy stayed for 2 nights so we had a good catch up on the family gossip. We've now been on our own  for just over a week. Chaotic here atm as I had a call about our new sofa this morning and it's arriving in 3 days time. Not much notice really. So today OH did 2 runs to the local tip after sawing the sofa in half to fit in the car. It was a comfy old 3 piece suite we bought from a charity shop 4 years ago but is now well past its best. Catching up

 I've had a nice few days with Mark staying here. He's well over his monthly contracted hours so has taken time off in leiu. It's great having him here as he's a good help around the house, vacuuming, helping OH cook, loading the dishwasher etc. He's a perfectionist so everything is done really well. Daughter has almost finished granddaughter's room. OH put the wardrobe and desk together for her when he stayed there and she's put the curtain up. They are just waiting for the bed now and it's finished. She's sent me some photos and it all looks lovely.  Had a message this week from an old friend I haven't seen for years. I went to her mother's funeral about 7 years ago. I think that was the last time I heard from her! Her mum was a lovely, kind lady who was always kind to my family when we were young. TBH I'm not that keen on rekindling the friendship as she's one of life's users - the sort that needs loads of favours doing but won...
