An update

Well first the good news and my phone has magically sorted itself out without me doing anything! Daughter, son and granddaughter are coming to stay for a week next week so I will have some company. I'm now able to catch up with the very neglected housework although OH assures me he's kept up with the cleaning! His idea of washing the floor is dropping a floor wipe down and moving it about a bit with his foot lol. Yes, just the one for the whole of downstairs lol.

The bad news is I have a bad stomach starting with indigestion and continuing right through the intestinal track. Went to GP to check I haven't caught a germ but test was completely normal so this is from 3 different antibiotics taken at the same time. I'm taking a probiotic, Actimel, which is helping but I'm nowhere near normal yet. Sadly I couldn't travel to visit my family for their birthday meal at a very nice restaurant last week as it's 100miles away. Also, I'm eating a fairly bland diet atm. It's over a month now since I was ill so hopefully it will all resolve soon. Daughter and granddaughter's birthday was this week so I have sent cards which OH posted for me. They will just get money this time instead of presents unfortunately.

      False Widow Spider Bites x 2

OH has 2 huge bites on his leg that the Dr said was from a false widow spider. OH thinks it could be a horsefly as he didn't feel the bites when it happened. Never seen anything turn into such huge red patches before. Dr told him it will take 3+ weeks to heal and gave him antibiotics! So, all in all, we aren't very healthy here yet lol.

It's been raining on and off today and much cooler here 20C. At least we don't have to water the garden. Tomorrow will be a good day - yes I'm an optimist lol.

Recovering.....

 Have been quite ill this week which was unfortunate as we had both sons staying here. It started with bad stomach pain last weekend so I rang the GP Monday morning. 3 hours later the Dr saw me did blood tests etc and sent me home with antibiotics. Late afternoon he rang again and sent me to hospital! I was so shocked but apparently I needed IV medication. Had 5 ECGs maybe 6 I lost count, probably due to the shock of being sent to hospital lol Weight, more blood, urine tests, and what I think was a dementa test lol. Do you know where you are, what year is it, date of birth, say the months of the year backwards starting with December!!!!!!!! Pleased to say I passed. Off for a chest x-ray, hooked up on a drip all in one hour of arrival. Husband said it's restored his faith in the NHS. It is definately nothing like you see on the news condemming the poor service to patients. Babysitting and Dr Who's kitchen!

 Travelled back to our hometown yesterday and called in to see our eldest son. He's renovating his dining room and it's starting to look very good. Son always strips everything back when decorating, ie new patio doors, walls plastered, new flooring, new skirting board etc. He's definitely a perfectionist. We met DGD on the way to daughter's home riding her bike home from school. DD and her colleagues all meet up in a local pub with their children every Friday, so we spent an hour there before going to DDs home. Its really nice that they are all friends as well as colleagues. Today, Saturday, OH put up a shelf in DGDs bedroom, and then we spent the day visiting relatives. Managed to catch 2 nieces, 2 sisters, sister's boyfriend, and our Brother-in-law. Haven't seen him for months, as he's been staying on and off with his mum and sister since my sister died last year. That's Christmas Done!

 It was a bit chaotic here at Christmas as son, daughter and granddaughter all arrived. I did go to the pub Xmas Eve which was nice. They had a guitarist singing some old song like 'My old man's a dustman' which took me back to when I used to take my mum out Xmas Eve. She used to love the Salvation army band playing in the streets. Now I'm not religious at all but have every respect for the Salvation Army as they have an excellent brass band. They always turned up at our home with presents and food for mum and my siblings when I was young.  Also, they were the only people to get my late brother off of drugs permanently, and several other agencies had tried for years, including all the drug workers from various agencies, including social services They also found him accommodation as he was homeless at the time.                  The Demon cars              My kitchen worktop!
