Busy Times

My son and sister arrived for the weekend at the end of January as arranged. On arrival she didn't seem too bad but deteriorated over the weekend. She's suffered with poor health unfortunately for many years, and a few days after she returned home went in hospital. I'm hoping to visit her tomorrow afternoon for an hour or so.

I managed to spend a lovely afternoon visiting my friend in Exeter after sister left. She was baking scones which were lovely with butter and jam. OH took the dogs for a nice long walk in the park so we had a good catch up on our own. Must ask her for the recipe when I next visit.

We're staying at our daughter's home for a few days atm. We have tickets to see the school play as granddaughter is in their drama group. Saturday we're hoping to meet up for lunch with our son, daughter-in-law and oldest granddaughter in a local pub for a carvery. Then, Saturday night, it's babysitting duty, as daughter is going for a leaving do meal with her work colleagues. The person leaving is returning to his home country with his wife and children, as he's in poor health.

It's back home for us on Sunday but we're never alone for long. I have so much to sort out in the office, but did manage to get all the shredding done before I left. Molly dog has the groomers on the 11th and I have an annual review with the GP practice nurse the week after. They look after you well here in South Devon. I've never had so many health appointments in my life. Last month was a heart scan too. Nothing serious was discovered thankfully.

The best news is I finally drove my car again this week. It's  been several months, well almost a year, since I drove anywhere so that was an achievement. Funny really, I didn't feel nervous and felt really at home behind the wheel straight away. Hoping the weather improves so I can get back on the road again. Its constantly raining here in South Devon.

Bye for now All the best
