A day of Chaos
We decided to change Internet and TV provider as our cost now is double what others are charging. The switch over day was yesterday. OH was hoping son would come but he had to work on an early start today. OH tried to fit the router cables in the new modem but couldn't get it to work. Son was trying to scan the qr code from a photo OH sent him. After an hour I was sent an email of some pictures of where the cables had to go, but OH and son ignored me for another half an hour!! Finally managed to show OH the photos and guess what - we were connected to the Internet! Son directed OH where to put the TV cables and PlayStation so that all worked well. This all took 3 - 4 hours altogether. I spent most of the rest of the day changing the Internet and passwords on the ring door bell, 3 Alexas, and the camera in the porch (we put this in when we had a litter of puppies 5 years ago just incase.) The doorbell was difficult as you have to remove the cover with a screw driver to press a button. Why do we have all these gadgets now?
Finally sat down with a cup of coffee when the back door swung open and a young lad (17) from next door rushed in the house. My dogs were going mad barking constantly. He was shaking and begging me to lock all the doors as his dad was chasing him and beating him. Well, on the positive side, I did think I was being burgled, but no robber would ask you to lock them in, lol. I don't actually know this lad, and he's never been in our house before. He sat on the sofa and smoothed the dogs - I think that calmed him down. He told us it happens a lot, and he just stays at his friends' homes for a few weeks. Text his mum on OH's phone to tell her where he was, and he was OK. He left after around 10 minutes to join his friends. Thinking about it since these people moved in next door, we have seen police there at least once a week. I did hear his mum shouting at his dad asking why he did it when I went I the garden for a cigarette, so he was telling the truth. Sad situation really.
On a positive note everything is working now. Alexa doesn't turn the lights off anymore but hey we have a switch for that on the wall lolol. Son can sort that when he visits 😍
Bye for now All the best
