Catching Up/not catching 🔥

It's been really busy here for the last few weeks with Mark popping down several times and Daughter with Granddaughter for 4 nights over half term. I had started to feel like a chambermaid changing all the beds and washing all the bedding lol.

We travelled back again to South Gloucestershire for my new dental appointment (yes I finally saw the dentist) and visited our eldest son while we were there. He's still renovating the back room but it's almost finished now. Looks lovely with huge folding patio glass doors opening up onto his garden. I don't need any dental treatment so my next appointment is in December - actually I will remember the date as it's on our son's birthday!

I managed to see my friend last week as we had 8 whole days alone here, which has become a rare occurrence! She lives in Exeter, which is about 15 miles from where we live. It was really good to catch up and have a nice afternoon chat there. We helped her move, a few years ago, to her nice ground floor flat with a quite big garden. She's a bit of a hoarder though and still has far too many books,  clothes and kitchen accessories (despite selling and donating many boxes when she downsized). It made me think about decluttering myself too, as my wardrobe is very full of clothes I seldom, if ever, wear. I've decided to make an effort to wear everything over the next few months to check if 1) I still want it, and 2) does it still fit me?

I've had lots of messages and phone calls from daughter over the last 2 weeks as she was thinking of buying a new car. Well, not brand new, and she's leasing it where you pay monthly for a couple of years. You can then swap to a different car or make a final payment and keep it. She finally decided on a white electric car and collected it yesterday, which she's very happy with so far. Personally, I don't really trust these electric cars as some have been in the press doing things like not stopping and catching fire, but hopefully her car will be fine. As a bonus her boss has installed electric charging stations for staff to use for free Monday to Friday, which will save her money. As a single parent that will be a great help for her.

I finally got around to ordering a new air fryer this week as our old one was on a recall. Nothing wrong with it but they said that model was at risk of catching fire. I had a choice of the company sending me a new air fryer, or a credit voucher. I chose the voucher and paid an extra £30 for a double drawer one. It works perfectly so I've ordered an air fryer cookery book from ebay (as we only used the old one for chips or Chicken Kiev) OH has expressed a desire to make bread again, which was very nice the last time he made it in the electric oven. When the book comes he's going to try it in the air fryer - fingers crossed 🤞 it's successful.

Bye for now. All the best
