Car Boot, Repairs,Busy Times

 Son went home today after a 2 week stay. My nephew joined us for the Bank Holiday weekend and Daughter and Granddaughter are still here, so we've been full lol. Daughter hasn't been well since yesterday as she has a bad migraine so is staying a few more days. Granddaughter has been very well behaved for us while her mum is ill - she's a very caring child, coming to ask me for paracetamol and a drink for her mum. She's off to senior school this year, they grow up so fast.

My grandson has done exceptionally well in his GCSEs gaining 11 passes, with 4A* in maths and sciences, and 2As in other subjects. He has no idea yet what career he wants to aim for, but is taking A levels in Chemistry, Maths and Physics, his best subjects. He's like his dad very, very clever. 

I went to a car boot sale this week with daughter and managed to get another body board for the grandchildren, and a nice M&S jumper for me. The waves took the last body board and snapped it in half the last time granddaughter used it. They had some really nice cakes there too but at £3 for a small brownie I gave it a miss.

Have been home all day today as OH was with his bowling club. They made the semi final so he's pleased about that. Just me and the granddaughter as daughter was pretty ill in bed with migraine. She's a bit better this evening tg but still not well.

It's going to be quite expensive here soon as we need a new boiler and 2 of our double glazed windows aren't opening anymore. Plus our TV has something wrong with the colour and the bathroom sink has a slight leak. OH can fix the sink ( he did a plumbing course as part of his last job) when he gets round to it. It's a very slight drip so not urgent. Time for that when family all go home.

Recovering.....

 Have been quite ill this week which was unfortunate as we had both sons staying here. It started with bad stomach pain last weekend so I rang the GP Monday morning. 3 hours later the Dr saw me did blood tests etc and sent me home with antibiotics. Late afternoon he rang again and sent me to hospital! I was so shocked but apparently I needed IV medication. Had 5 ECGs maybe 6 I lost count, probably due to the shock of being sent to hospital lol Weight, more blood, urine tests, and what I think was a dementa test lol. Do you know where you are, what year is it, date of birth, say the months of the year backwards starting with December!!!!!!!! Pleased to say I passed. Off for a chest x-ray, hooked up on a drip all in one hour of arrival. Husband said it's restored his faith in the NHS. It is definately nothing like you see on the news condemming the poor service to patients. Babysitting and Dr Who's kitchen!

 Travelled back to our hometown yesterday and called in to see our eldest son. He's renovating his dining room and it's starting to look very good. Son always strips everything back when decorating, ie new patio doors, walls plastered, new flooring, new skirting board etc. He's definitely a perfectionist. We met DGD on the way to daughter's home riding her bike home from school. DD and her colleagues all meet up in a local pub with their children every Friday, so we spent an hour there before going to DDs home. Its really nice that they are all friends as well as colleagues. Today, Saturday, OH put up a shelf in DGDs bedroom, and then we spent the day visiting relatives. Managed to catch 2 nieces, 2 sisters, sister's boyfriend, and our Brother-in-law. Haven't seen him for months, as he's been staying on and off with his mum and sister since my sister died last year. That's Christmas Done!

 It was a bit chaotic here at Christmas as son, daughter and granddaughter all arrived. I did go to the pub Xmas Eve which was nice. They had a guitarist singing some old song like 'My old man's a dustman' which took me back to when I used to take my mum out Xmas Eve. She used to love the Salvation army band playing in the streets. Now I'm not religious at all but have every respect for the Salvation Army as they have an excellent brass band. They always turned up at our home with presents and food for mum and my siblings when I was young.  Also, they were the only people to get my late brother off of drugs permanently, and several other agencies had tried for years, including all the drug workers from various agencies, including social services They also found him accommodation as he was homeless at the time.                  The Demon cars              My kitchen worktop!
