Full House and the Dog Show

 We're full here atm as we have son, daughter, and granddaughter staying. Actually, we were over full at the weekend as our nephew came to stay too. Now I only have 3 beds, so he had to sleep on the sofa but it was ok as it reclines almost horizontally, so quite comfortable. Daughter left granddaughter here for 2 nights as she had to attend a wedding, but she's really well behaved for us. Note the 'for us' as she's not that well behaved for her mum, but aren't all kids good for their grandparents? Anyway, daughter came back and nephew left Monday for work so they all have a bed now.

               The Dog Show

OH and granddaughter took one of our dogs into Dawlish Carnival Dog Show. She won 2 rosettes this time. It was a 1st for waggiest tail and a 2nd for prettiest female dog. Not bad for a dog that's almost 8 now. Granddaughter was really delighted and had a photo taken with our dog by the organisers. Dog's prizes were a packet of dog biscuits, a packet of poo bags, and a squeaky ball - that will shortly disappear very soon lolol. It's quite loud and annoying 🙄.

OH's leg is healing slowly but still not better. I think the GP was right in saying  a good 3 weeks to heal. We saw another false widow spider outside by the bins and husband actually stamped on it. This is very unusual as he normally leaves spiders alone, or puts them outside if they are in the house. But these false widows are very poisonous when they bite, so he wasn't taking any chances. We have an Indorex spray for ants, spiders, and other crawling insects. We just spray across the doorway at floor level, and they won't cross it. Lasts ages even if you wash the floor.

I must admit I didn't feel well today because of the hot weather. It was 26C here. I felt really dizzy and not quite right, so I sat down with a glass of Ribena and a packet of crisps for a few hours. I really don't do too well when it's hot weather, probably due to having COPD, as I noticed I was out of breath much more than normally. All okay now that it's late evening and much cooler.

Recovering.....

 Have been quite ill this week which was unfortunate as we had both sons staying here. It started with bad stomach pain last weekend so I rang the GP Monday morning. 3 hours later the Dr saw me did blood tests etc and sent me home with antibiotics. Late afternoon he rang again and sent me to hospital! I was so shocked but apparently I needed IV medication. Had 5 ECGs maybe 6 I lost count, probably due to the shock of being sent to hospital lol Weight, more blood, urine tests, and what I think was a dementa test lol. Do you know where you are, what year is it, date of birth, say the months of the year backwards starting with December!!!!!!!! Pleased to say I passed. Off for a chest x-ray, hooked up on a drip all in one hour of arrival. Husband said it's restored his faith in the NHS. It is definately nothing like you see on the news condemming the poor service to patients. Babysitting and Dr Who's kitchen!

 Travelled back to our hometown yesterday and called in to see our eldest son. He's renovating his dining room and it's starting to look very good. Son always strips everything back when decorating, ie new patio doors, walls plastered, new flooring, new skirting board etc. He's definitely a perfectionist. We met DGD on the way to daughter's home riding her bike home from school. DD and her colleagues all meet up in a local pub with their children every Friday, so we spent an hour there before going to DDs home. Its really nice that they are all friends as well as colleagues. Today, Saturday, OH put up a shelf in DGDs bedroom, and then we spent the day visiting relatives. Managed to catch 2 nieces, 2 sisters, sister's boyfriend, and our Brother-in-law. Haven't seen him for months, as he's been staying on and off with his mum and sister since my sister died last year. That's Christmas Done!

 It was a bit chaotic here at Christmas as son, daughter and granddaughter all arrived. I did go to the pub Xmas Eve which was nice. They had a guitarist singing some old song like 'My old man's a dustman' which took me back to when I used to take my mum out Xmas Eve. She used to love the Salvation army band playing in the streets. Now I'm not religious at all but have every respect for the Salvation Army as they have an excellent brass band. They always turned up at our home with presents and food for mum and my siblings when I was young.  Also, they were the only people to get my late brother off of drugs permanently, and several other agencies had tried for years, including all the drug workers from various agencies, including social services They also found him accommodation as he was homeless at the time.                  The Demon cars              My kitchen worktop!
