One better, one ill

OH was completely recovered by last weekend which is just as well as we had a Murder Mystery trip booked with the U3A on Buckfastleigh steam train. It was quite good and something different to do.

Saturday we left to visit family and stayed with our daughter and granddaughter in South Gloucestershire. Things rapidly went downhill from there. Sunday morning I woke up with the same symptoms OH has had, so despite moving into a different bed, opening windows and doors when he was in the room, and avoiding him as much as possible I've still caught it. The covid tests arrived before we left and he'd tested negative so it's not that. It's like a cross between a bad cold and flu, with a hacking cough. Daughter's home was definitely not a great place to be when I'm ill as granddaughter is prone to teenage tantrums despite being only 11! Sunday night's was dramatic (she's good at drama) with stamping of feet up the stairs a few times, followed by lots of tears and sobbing. Daughter was insisting on her making notes for her biology test this week. Now this is where I went wrong! I told Daughter that homework was something my kids all took there own responsibility for without my input. I was told that she would have done a lot better at school if I had monitored it. Hang on, she got 12 GCSEs and a 1st class honours degree at university. Obviously, she probably thought she would have obtained a PHD at 17 if I'd helped more lol. Actually, I proof read most of her university work usually between midnight and 3am so I don't really think I was that unsupportive. Monday morning was chaotic too as granddaughter didn't want to put a coat on to ride her bike to school in the rain.

OH visited our Brother-in-law after his dentist appointment on Monday. I didn't go as he's been in hospital not long ago with heart problems. I thought if he caught this bug it wouldn't be very good for him, as he's not in the best of health even now. We left in the afternoon for home tg.

Now I'm back at home and to be honest I've not done anything today. Haven't even bothered to unpack my bag. I'm still quite unwell so resting up and napping on the sofa today. The housework can wait. It's definitely the maƱana approach here.

Bye for now All the best
