Catching Up

 Daughter stayed for 5 days which was nice to have her and the granddaughter here. I'd started catching up on the housework and decided to buy some new net curtains for the living room and upstairs landing. Well, they were here when we moved in so well past their best. We drove to Trago Mills and were spoiled for choice. Also, we picked up a curtain pole as we've decided to put curtains over the patio doors leading to the conservatory to keep the heat in.

I'm ill again, but this time it's just an eye infection. It's annoying but I had a spare unopened tube of ointment in the fridge so don't need to see the GP tg. It's a pain though as you have to apply it 5 x a day.

Son came for the night this week which was nice to have company. Our youngest spaniel Lola was delighted as she really loves him. When he had a slipped disc he stayed here for weeks and slept on the floor with her (his choice as we did have a spare bed!) I'm never lonely here it's like a seaside B&B - very busy in the summer and a bit quieter in the winter lol.

We went shopping yesterday to Lidl and I picked up a couple of bunches of daffodils. OH put a green bit of foilage in with them. I remember when we lived in Bristol years ago we had a leilandi tree in the front garden that I used for flower arrangements. I suggested buying one and OH looked horrified at the suggestion, but when I said it could go in a pot and be trimmed regularly he came around to the idea! He loves growing things in pots lol we must have around 50+ here.

I must admit I'm addicted to watching the news atm, and the terrible things that are happening in the Middle East. I feel so sorry for all the countries being attacked, including the citizens of Iran. Can't really understand why the Muslim countries - 10 at the time of writing - are all being attacked by Iran either. I always thought Muslim people supported each other and stood together??  TBH I'm not planning on going abroad any time soon with all this going on - who knows how far it will spread?

Recovering.....

 Have been quite ill this week which was unfortunate as we had both sons staying here. It started with bad stomach pain last weekend so I rang the GP Monday morning. 3 hours later the Dr saw me did blood tests etc and sent me home with antibiotics. Late afternoon he rang again and sent me to hospital! I was so shocked but apparently I needed IV medication. Had 5 ECGs maybe 6 I lost count, probably due to the shock of being sent to hospital lol Weight, more blood, urine tests, and what I think was a dementa test lol. Do you know where you are, what year is it, date of birth, say the months of the year backwards starting with December!!!!!!!! Pleased to say I passed. Off for a chest x-ray, hooked up on a drip all in one hour of arrival. Husband said it's restored his faith in the NHS. It is definately nothing like you see on the news condemming the poor service to patients. Quiet Day

 OH has spent almost all day in bed asleep   I've been mainly keeping the dogs company, watching TV and generally having a quiet day. He came downstairs mid-morning, for half an hour, to take his regular tablets and have coffee with me, then back to bed. Came down again at 5pm, had a tin of soup and back upstairs again. Down again at midnight for coffee for 10 minutes. I did keep checking if he's still alive up there every few hours lol. This is typical of OH. If he's ill he wants to be alone ie totally alone. I decided last night to move to the spare bed in the office room as he's coughing quite a lot, plus I don't want to catch it if it's Covid. I went online and I've ordered a pack of 10 Covid tests. It was a good deal - 10 for £9.99 with free delivery. The chemist here was charging £10 for a pack of 5 tests!! Cooked myself cheese omlette and chips for tea as OH didn't want anything more to eat. Babysitting and Dr Who's kitchen!

 Travelled back to our hometown yesterday and called in to see our eldest son. He's renovating his dining room and it's starting to look very good. Son always strips everything back when decorating, ie new patio doors, walls plastered, new flooring, new skirting board etc. He's definitely a perfectionist. We met DGD on the way to daughter's home riding her bike home from school. DD and her colleagues all meet up in a local pub with their children every Friday, so we spent an hour there before going to DDs home. Its really nice that they are all friends as well as colleagues. Today, Saturday, OH put up a shelf in DGDs bedroom, and then we spent the day visiting relatives. Managed to catch 2 nieces, 2 sisters, sister's boyfriend, and our Brother-in-law. Haven't seen him for months, as he's been staying on and off with his mum and sister since my sister died last year.
