Babysitting/Heatwave

At the moment we're looking after the granddaughter as our daughter is at a wedding near Bath. They both came on Friday and daughter left on Saturday. She's back on Monday, tomorrow and staying here for a few days. Son also came Thursday for a couple of nights as he's working all over the Bank Holiday. Granddaughter went to watch the bowling matches in Dawlish today with OH. She's very well behaved with us on her own.

It's was very hot here today at 28C so I spent the day at home. I managed to get 3 loads of washing dried outside in the hot sun. Putting it in and out was a problem though as I started to feel a bit dizzy in the heat. I get heat exhaustion regularly in the hot weather, especially if the temperature goes over 24C. It doesn't help that I have a lung condition so my breathing was a bit laboured at times. I won't be going out very much until it cools down a bit. OH and granddaughter took the dogs out at 9pm tonight. They always stay close and have great recall so no chance of loosing them in the dark lol. He did buy reflected collars but never uses them now. They are scavengers though, so you have to watch them when they're out. One of them ate something on the beach a couple of weeks ago and had an upset stomach for 3 days! It was probably a dead fish or crab, and I thought we were going to need the vet but day 4 everything was back to normal tg.

Daughter is bringing her best friend's daughter back with her tomorrow as her friend has no childcare for 2 days. She's a nice little girl and gets on really well with our granddaughter, and they are the same age. They stay over at each other's homes quite regularly. It's going to be a surprise for granddaughter so we can't make the bed up until she arrives lol.

Daughter has suggested several times that we should convert the loft into another bedroom but OH isn't keen lolol.

Bye for now All the best
