Busy Month!!

 Daughter and Granddaughter came to stay for a few days during the school holidays. As it was my birthday they brought cards and chocolates. Son sent a lovely bouquet 💐 of flowers which were delivered. Our eldest son video called me and we had a long chat. 

A few days after they left we spent the weekend at daughter's house to care for Granddaughter as daughter was away on a Hen do in Wales. We visited our eldest son, DIL and the grandchildren. Son spent a long time showing us his latest gadget- a 3D printer. Very into gadgets and technology is our eldest. He actually works programming circuit boards or chips to make new equipment work, ie like medical machines or airplane parts etc. We visited my BIL while we were there too, as we haven't seen him for a while.

Came home on Monday and arranged to visit my friend in Exeter on Friday last week. Then our nephew messaged wanting to come for the weekend with his girlfriend. We said no this time, as OH is away most of Saturday and Sunday for a boules tournament, and meetings.  Friday morning son phoned and wanted to visit for the Bank Holiday Weekend. He wouldn't mind OH not being around as he's happy to watch boules, or just walk the dogs in the fields. When I  arrived at my friend's home I received a phone call from daughter. She wanted to come Friday night or Saturday morning for the weekend! OH cemented 2 of her garden steps for her, as they were very loose, while we had a nice chat.

We left my friend's home at 5.30 pm and our ring doorbell showed daughter and granddaughter arriving at 6pm. Not a problem as they had a spare key and were making up the beds when we arrived home. Saved me a job lol.  Son arrived a few hours later.

They all left last night, Monday, after we went to Teignmouth for a curry in the Royal Indian restaurant. The food was excellent as usual.

So today we're finally alone for a couple of weeks. Then we have the granddaughter for a weekend while daughter attends her friend's wedding.

We're having a few problems with our neighbours atm. Next door's eldest son has been heard shouting, banging, swearing etc at his mum a few times and also at his GF! Girlfriend was heard screaming and crying. On Sunday morning at 8.30am, there was shouting and swearing. He must have then thrown something heavy at his bedroom window, which shattered the glass outwards onto the patio below!! The smash woke up my son, Daughter and Granddaughter. Daughter thought it was a car smash but it was just his bedroom window. In the 6 years we've lived here there has never been any problems with neighbours, and the couple next door are really lovely. It's just their eldest son who has recently moved back home. I'm hoping it was just for the Easter holiday, as I think he's away at university or college most of the time.

I'm sure I'm busier here than a lot of B&Bs in the area , lol. Time to go as the grand clean-up awaits. OH has vacuumed the house this morning tg.

Recovering.....

 Have been quite ill this week which was unfortunate as we had both sons staying here. It started with bad stomach pain last weekend so I rang the GP Monday morning. 3 hours later the Dr saw me did blood tests etc and sent me home with antibiotics. Late afternoon he rang again and sent me to hospital! I was so shocked but apparently I needed IV medication. Had 5 ECGs maybe 6 I lost count, probably due to the shock of being sent to hospital lol Weight, more blood, urine tests, and what I think was a dementa test lol. Do you know where you are, what year is it, date of birth, say the months of the year backwards starting with December!!!!!!!! Pleased to say I passed. Off for a chest x-ray, hooked up on a drip all in one hour of arrival. Husband said it's restored his faith in the NHS. It is definately nothing like you see on the news condemming the poor service to patients. Quiet Day

 OH has spent almost all day in bed asleep   I've been mainly keeping the dogs company, watching TV and generally having a quiet day. He came downstairs mid-morning, for half an hour, to take his regular tablets and have coffee with me, then back to bed. Came down again at 5pm, had a tin of soup and back upstairs again. Down again at midnight for coffee for 10 minutes. I did keep checking if he's still alive up there every few hours lol. This is typical of OH. If he's ill he wants to be alone ie totally alone. I decided last night to move to the spare bed in the office room as he's coughing quite a lot, plus I don't want to catch it if it's Covid. I went online and I've ordered a pack of 10 Covid tests. It was a good deal - 10 for £9.99 with free delivery. The chemist here was charging £10 for a pack of 5 tests!! Cooked myself cheese omlette and chips for tea as OH didn't want anything more to eat. My views on our world

 I'm starting to think the world has gone mad atm. Israel and Iran are now at war and fighting, Russia is still trying to take over Ukraine, and Israel is also still terrorising the Palestinian people. So what happened to net zero and clean air with all these bombs flying around and exploding? I think the whole idea of clean air has bit the dust literally now. I'm not sure what they are all fighting for especially with Israel and Palestine. Surely they have had enough revenge for the October attack by now. They have been fighting each other for years but I do think enough is enough now. The only thing to gain from these wars are broken countries, bankrupt economys, buildings and homes seriously damaged, loss of thousands of lives on both sides, and enough pollution to undo the last several years of of reducing emissions.
