Summer is on the Way

Our Dogs enjoying the warm weather 

 Apart from a nice walk in local fields with OH and the dogs I've spent the last few days at home. The time has come to fetch my suitcase of summer clothes from the loft and pack away scarves, gloves, hats and warm winter clothing as the weather here has turned much warmer. It's been 21C for the last few days so I've finally taken the plunge. I have so many clothes everything won't fit in my double wardrobe, so off to the loft it goes. Or it will soon, when I've finally finished washing the last of the thick jumpers and trousers. That's been on hold for a few days as I've been unable to buy peril colour locally until today. (The joys of living in a semi rural area) Seriously need to declutter my wardrobe as it's completely full with summer items and I'm sure I haven't worn half of it for quite a few years.

I've bought 2 dresses, 3 tops and some pattered loose summer trousers from ebay. I think I buy nearly as much as I sell lol. Talking of selling its been much busier this month compared to the rest of the year and I've been busy wrapping parcels and printing labels. I'm using Evri as they are much faster than Royal mail atm. I've seen on social media (FB) people only getting post once a week, or parcels taking up to 2 weeks to arrive with RM. Mainly, people are buying children's clothing and school wear this month. It's all the grandchildren's clothing that they have outgrown so will be money for their money boxes.

Applied online for OHs passport yesterday, as he's not very good at filling in forms on his phone. Same problem as applying for mine,  12 photos before one was good enough!! I had an acknowledgement that they received my application and old passport - sent it 1st class recorded. It also said the wait to receive a new one is up to 10 weeks!! That will be mid August if it takes that long. Think we will be off to the Canaries in September or October as its warm all year! Good job we live near the sea we can pretend we're on holiday abroad while we wait for it to arrive lol

An Update

 Well I went to the market in town which was lovely to look around. OH had a stall with others promoting the U3A. This is a club for people who are retired and over 50. OH has been playing Badminton, Bouls, Shooting at targets, visiting various Mansion houses and Gardens like the brochure and playing Chess. It did rain on and off but he was under the big tent there. I looked around but didn't buy anything as prices were high eg £5 for a pancake! The cleaning routine has been put on hold this week as,  apart from stripping the bed and doing 2 loads of washing I've been in quite a lot of pain from the tooth extraction so decided to rest. Feeling better today so hopefully it will continue healing now. Son did the vacuuming for me which was a big help. Managed to sell some china and clothes on ebay and send it all but thats about it.                                                      Ah well tomorrow is another day, the mañana approach here lol. The Dog Show

          1st Prize for the Waggiest Tail We decided to enter the dogs in the Dawlish Carnival Dog Show just for fun. Ava, our granddaughter, and our daughter were staying with us so Ava was delighted to take one of the dogs in the ring. She was closely followed by OH holding our other dog. Molly won the waggiest tail, coming first and was rewarded with a rosette and cone of dog biscuits. Her tail does wag constantly and at least twice the speed of other dogs lol. Nice afternoon there and thankfully the weather stayed dry for the day. Ava had a go on the bouncy castle and Mark won her a soft toy penguin on the rifle range. Managed to get the washing dry on the line today as tomorrow's forecast is heavy rain and thunder storms. It really seems like Autumn rather than August atm. The Carnival parade is tomorrow but we won't be going to that due to the weather. Bye for now All the best x

Busy times and what a Bargain

Ready for family visiting   Went back to my friend's home last week and OH sorted out the base for the greenhouse. He used to work as a buildings manager/builder so knew how to do it properly. Will probably go again in a few weeks when all visiting family leave. ATM we have son here for a fortnight and daughter, granddaughter and eldest son coming for next weekend! Quite a houseful really. I went to a car boot sale last weekend and bought 2 brand new, sealed in packet Dorma duvet covers and matching pillow cases. Can't believe the price only £13 for all of it. Has to be my bargain of the year. Also bought a pretty M&S top for me for £1 and a small football game table for the grandchildren.  OH bought a concrete Dragon garden ornament, another plant and a plant pot.  We also drove to Dawlish last week as they had an event on the lawns there with music and various drink and food stalls.
