Dentist problems Preparing for winter

 Had everything arranged to attend a dental appointment near where we used to live and then they cancelled it! We normally stay with our daughter for a few nights and visit family at the same time as its 100 miles from where we live. I've kept the same dentist as its NHS and there's no NHS dentists here in Devon atm - or anywhere else for that matter.  They then sent me a text re-booking it but I can't stay with daughter the night before as 4 of her friends are staying over that night. It was for 9.30am so pretty much impossible with the M5 in rush hour, and they wouldn't see you if you're late. So now it will be the end of November.

Ebay is very slow now for selling anything and prices are all quite low. I don't think there's much money about due to all the bills and shopping going up in price all the time. Only sold one puzzle for £2.50 in 2 weeks! Maybe I will try a car boot sale in the spring, which is what I was going to do when we moved here. Definitely need to keep decluttering as I've so much stuff - clothes, toys from when I was childminding and ornaments to get rid of. Should have sent the lot to a charity shop before we moved really as its hardly worth the hassle getting £2 or £3 an item.

OH has laid the log fire ready for the cold spell we're supposed to be having soon. I really hope it snows this year. I just love walking in freshly pitched snow. Apart from a few flakes, that settled for an hour and then melted last year, we haven't had snow here since we moved 5 years ago.

An Update

 Well I went to the market in town which was lovely to look around. OH had a stall with others promoting the U3A. This is a club for people who are retired and over 50. OH has been playing Badminton, Bouls, Shooting at targets, visiting various Mansion houses and Gardens like the brochure and playing Chess. It did rain on and off but he was under the big tent there. I looked around but didn't buy anything as prices were high eg £5 for a pancake! The cleaning routine has been put on hold this week as,  apart from stripping the bed and doing 2 loads of washing I've been in quite a lot of pain from the tooth extraction so decided to rest. Feeling better today so hopefully it will continue healing now. Son did the vacuuming for me which was a big help. Managed to sell some china and clothes on ebay and send it all but thats about it.                                                      Ah well tomorrow is another day, the mañana approach here lol. The Dog Show

          1st Prize for the Waggiest Tail We decided to enter the dogs in the Dawlish Carnival Dog Show just for fun. Ava, our granddaughter, and our daughter were staying with us so Ava was delighted to take one of the dogs in the ring. She was closely followed by OH holding our other dog. Molly won the waggiest tail, coming first and was rewarded with a rosette and cone of dog biscuits. Her tail does wag constantly and at least twice the speed of other dogs lol. Nice afternoon there and thankfully the weather stayed dry for the day. Ava had a go on the bouncy castle and Mark won her a soft toy penguin on the rifle range. Managed to get the washing dry on the line today as tomorrow's forecast is heavy rain and thunder storms. It really seems like Autumn rather than August atm. The Carnival parade is tomorrow but we won't be going to that due to the weather. Bye for now All the best x

Busy times and what a Bargain

Ready for family visiting   Went back to my friend's home last week and OH sorted out the base for the greenhouse. He used to work as a buildings manager/builder so knew how to do it properly. Will probably go again in a few weeks when all visiting family leave. ATM we have son here for a fortnight and daughter, granddaughter and eldest son coming for next weekend! Quite a houseful really. I went to a car boot sale last weekend and bought 2 brand new, sealed in packet Dorma duvet covers and matching pillow cases. Can't believe the price only £13 for all of it. Has to be my bargain of the year. Also bought a pretty M&S top for me for £1 and a small football game table for the grandchildren.  OH bought a concrete Dragon garden ornament, another plant and a plant pot.  We also drove to Dawlish last week as they had an event on the lawns there with music and various drink and food stalls.
