Chaotic Times

We travelled back to daughter's home to take delivery of the new kitchen at the beginning of the month. All the units were boxed and ready assembled which is an easy way to fit everything ready for the kitchen fitters, plumber and electrician. Originally we were only staying for 2 days but I had a phone call to say my sister had been admitted to the ICU in hospital with pneumonia, flu and heart problems.

Met with brother-in-law on the way to daughter's home and he was quite upset. Unfortunately she deteriorated over the week and passed away this Saturday. It was really quite a shock as she had been admitted to ICU twice before, over the last few years, and always recovered well despite doctors saying she wouldn't. I was invited by her daughter's to visit her in hospital but I prefer to remember her from the long phone call we had 2 weeks ago, and the happy times when we called in to see her, and when they stayed here in the summer.

So altogether it's been quite a chaotic few weeks with daughter's home upside-down due to the kitchen out of action for 5 weeks. Who rips out a kitchen 5 weeks before the new one is coming - including the sink lolol? Washing up in the garden anyone?

We're going back again next week to house sit for the work tops to be fitted. The dishwasher is already installed and working tg

Bye for now All the best x

RIP my sister M aged 61 10/2/24
