An update & a poorly dog

Daughter's doing well on the granddaughter's bedroom. I've had several updates, photos, and long phone converstions about it all. Walls are painted, new carpet fitted, and wardrobe and bed on order. Then the problems start! The wardrobe is lovely and it's coming on Saturday. She just thinks she can put it together on her own! It's over 6ft tall and 4'6" wide with heavy sliding mirror doors. So OH is going to help and so is Mark, her brother. I'm staying here with the dogs as it's quite upside-down there with the old furniture everywhere. That should hopefully prevent 6 slipped discs and a broken wardrobe, as daughter isn't very tall or muscular lol. The bed is taking 6 weeks to deliver but at least it's been purchased. Rumour has it she was 4 hours in the bed shop lolol poor staff

                The cone of shame 

We have an ill dog here atm with a burst absess on an anal gland. Doesn't look ill as eating, drinking, running around normally and body functions all completely normal. Saw the vet yesterday, Friday, so she's on antibiotics and pain meds. Back to vet on Monday evening. I think it may be quite difficult to cure as they've asked if we have insurance! Well, I've never claimed yet on insurance as by the time you pay the excess it's not worth it. It's only the 2nd illness she's ever had - the other one was dysentery caused by drinking dirty water on a walk in a soggy field. I may have to claim for this though depending on how long it goes on. She's had to wear the 'cone of shame' but that's not really stopping her attending to it. We bought a larger one but she's still finding a way!!

House is looking much better now as my cough has cleared at last so I'm on top of the housework and washing. Had a nice walk around the fields yesterday with the dogs and OH. The sun was shining but it was very cold overnight, down to ‐1C. I've found a new hairdresser and booked an appointment for Tuesday. The girl in the last one didn't want to bother washing my hair, just did a cut and charged £24 for 15 minutes! The time I went before she was quite rude when I left saying no point asking if you want another appointment as you only come once a year! It was more her tone than what she said, really, as it doesn't look too bad when you write it down on here. 

OH is cooking tea atm. We're having chops, mashed potatoes and cauliflower cheese. I always make the cheese sauce while he cooks the rest. I hardly ever cook now as I don't really like it unless I'm making a cake or dessert.
