Our New Life in Devon

 Bank Holiday Monday daughter was feeling a lot better so we all went to a small pub. They had an Irish band playing folk music and old songs, with several people singing along and dancing. Reminded me of when I used to take my mother out to listen to pub music and sing along to it years ago. Boxed pizzas were being cooked in the pub kitchen with a variety of toppings. They weren't cheap but very nice and similar to Domino's. It saved OH cooking that evening so he was pleased about that.  Tuesday morning our nephew left promising to come back this weekend. He's very keen to live here by the sea, and as he has vast experience in the building trade could get a job quite easily. They are building 100s and 100s of new houses a few miles from where we are living. Daughter and granddaughter left after dinner last night. They were planning on returning home on Monday but stayed an extra day as she's been ill. Today is Wednesday, and we are alone. I've made a start on clean...

 Son went home today after a 2 week stay. My nephew joined us for the Bank Holiday weekend and Daughter and Granddaughter are still here, so we've been full lol. Daughter hasn't been well since yesterday as she has a bad migraine so is staying a few more days. Granddaughter has been very well behaved for us while her mum is ill - she's a very caring child, coming to ask me for paracetamol and a drink for her mum. She's off to senior school this year, they grow up so fast. My grandson has done exceptionally well in his GCSEs gaining 11 passes, with 4A* in maths and sciences, and 2As in other subjects. He has no idea yet what career he wants to aim for, but is taking A levels in Chemistry, Maths and Physics, his best subjects. He's like his dad very, very clever.  I went to a car boot sale this week with daughter and managed to get another body board for the grandchildren, and a nice M&S jumper for me.  Well, I was very surprised today to see how many views my blog had in the last 7 days. I've had readers from 5 continents, Europe, North America, South America, Africa and Asia. Altogether from 14 different countries! I really didn't think this blog was that interesting but it's lovely to find people all over the world are enjoying reading it. Thank you all for your interest and please feel free to leave a comment if you want. I can't see exactly where or who you are just what country you are from. I had a very bad night the other night as I woke at 4.30am coughing continually. I decided to get up at 5am (as it wasn't stopping) so I took my inhaler and a 2nd allergy pill, which stopped the cough after an hour or so. Then I remembered what was causing it - I kissed both dogs 🐕 on the head goodnight. Stupid thing to do as I'm now allergic to dogs which is usually controlled well by taking one allergy tablet a day. It took me ages getting back to sleep afterwards...

 We're full here atm as we have son, daughter, and granddaughter staying. Actually, we were over full at the weekend as our nephew came to stay too. Now I only have 3 beds, so he had to sleep on the sofa but it was ok as it reclines almost horizontally, so quite comfortable. Daughter left granddaughter here for 2 nights as she had to attend a wedding, but she's really well behaved for us. Note the 'for us' as she's not that well behaved for her mum, but aren't all kids good for their grandparents? Anyway, daughter came back and nephew left Monday for work so they all have a bed now.                The Dog Show OH and granddaughter took one of our dogs into Dawlish Carnival Dog Show. She won 2 rosettes this time. It was a 1st for waggiest tail and a 2nd for prettiest female dog. Not bad for a dog that's almost 8 now. Well first the good news and my phone has magically sorted itself out without me doing anything! Daughter, son and granddaughter are coming to stay for a week next week so I will have some company. I'm now able to catch up with the very neglected housework although OH assures me he's kept up with the cleaning! His idea of washing the floor is dropping a floor wipe down and moving it about a bit with his foot lol. Yes, just the one for the whole of downstairs lol. The bad news is I have a bad stomach starting with indigestion and continuing right through the intestinal track. Went to GP to check I haven't caught a germ but test was completely normal so this is from 3 different antibiotics taken at the same time. I'm taking a probiotic, Actimel, which is helping but I'm nowhere near normal yet.
